Via Lattea: the albino horse: the only Albino specimen
Via Lattea is the name of the albino horse, the only specimen born on 5 April at 2 am in Sergio Carfagna's kennel, on the slopes of Assisi.
Gift from heaven “This filly is a gift from heaven - said Father Danilo (the horse-racing enthusiast who frequents the stable) - and could only have been born here. It does not belong to the owner but to all Italian horse racing. The name? I resisted the pitfalls but I wouldn't have said it even under torture. I gave it because I have always given the names of the horses of Carfagna ». The name was born for V like all horses born this year, by convention. «It had to be a simple name, Franciscan - the friar specified - I had in my eyes the children who saw it at the racecourse. We have a priori excluded foreign names. The meaning of the name is twofold: it is a fairy tale, a miracle that can indicate hope for horse racing, a sport with millions of fans. A fairy tale that ends well with the debut of this mare on the track. And then that it recalls color, beauty, uniqueness. The name is Via Lattea, because its color recalls milk, a symbol of hope ».
