San-dra Victories: Long live love
A simple story, one of those that increasingly convince me that it is not necessary to cross the world to tell through images, but often without realizing it the images are waiting for us behind the house or at the park on Sunday while we walk carefree, just knowing how to grasp them , it is enough to lose that semi-blindness, which allows us to see without, however, observing what has probably been calling us to if for some time. This photographic series shows us Sandra, I can't tell you much about her because I don't know her well and it's probably not that important, it is true, that is she cheered for two years every morning my short trip that goes, from where I park the car to the editorial office where I work. Always there on those stairs in front of the municipal canteen of Perugia (city where I live). He greets me with a beautiful smile and with the usual stupendous exclamation "Long live love" and tells me what he will eat for lunch, (which is why the name of a dish belongs to each photo) is keen not to steal me much time because he knows that I'm going to work so our discussions don't go much further. _ San-dra Victoire (the title of the entire photographic series) is inspired by the series of paintings by Paul Cèzanne inspired by the Sainte-Victoire, a limestone massif in the valley near Aix-en-Provence, a place very familiar to the author since 'childhood. In this work Paul Cesanne seems to want to show how a limestone mountain, (which is how much more immutable it can be to human sight) has the ability to change through painting, light and color, makes it his muse for over twenty years with a large production of watercolors and oil paints. The subject was always the same ... And this is how it went even between Sandra and myself: the same shot, the same subject, the same dialogues and mutual respect, the light and the colorful clothes worn changed. But for me San-dra Victoire is also Sandra's victory, I like to think so. Every day she waits for the meal at the municipal canteen and despite the adversity she is always there, ready to smile at life and love, just like the winners do ...
